Glam Tea Party

Sometimes young girls like to put on their best clothes, do their hair, get their nails done, wear their fancy shoes, and maybe even get their makeup done too. They want to get the full glam because it might look cool, or fun, or maybe they want to dress up like their mom, aunt, or whichever female parental figure or sibling they have in their lives.

It can also make a really fun birthday theme because once all the children get glammed up, they can then enjoy a nice little tea party with cookies and maybe even a birthday cake.

There are several ways to plan for a party like this, but if you’re interested in doing it from the comforts of your own home, take a quick glance at the photos attached to see if they spark some ideas.

A Football Party 🏈

The fall season is football season, and the perfect theme for any kind of party.

Any child who loves football, whether it be playing it or simply watching it, would absolutely love having this theme for their birthday party. It allows them to not only have fun but gives them the opportunity to share their love for the sport with their friends and family.

It also would be great for older teens, adults in their early 20s, and well, the truth is just about anyone of any age who loves football that wants to throw a get-together for Sunday, Monday, or even Thursday night football. Yeah, football is on a lot during the Fall…

Most people even tend to celebrate the football season ending by throwing a Super Bowl party in February when the final football game of the year occurs. The only thing is most people have absolutely no idea how to decorate for a football-themed party, especially if they’ve never thrown one before.

If you happen to be looking for ideas on different ways to decorate, or maybe even some snack options, take a look at the photos below.

👑 A Disney Enchanted Party 👑

One popular Disney movie that came out in 2007 that most young girls loved was Enchanted. Over the years, children’s love for the movie only seemed to grow. Recently, Disney came out with a sequel to the movie called Disenchanted, which takes you on another interesting fairytale adventure.

Technically, the original movie is based in New York City, but it starts off with the main character Giselle with all of her animal friends in the magical woodlands of Andalasia, which is the name of the fairytale land she originates from.

Giselle is actually a mixture of all of your favorite Disney princesses like Sleeping beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, and even a little Ariel believe it or not.

That’s why this Disney movie would make an amazing party theme because you can decorate it however you want. You could probably take your favorite parts of each Disney princess movie if you wanted and put it together for this kind of party, but feel free to check out these photos below for additional ideas on how to decorate.

🌼 A Groovy-Themed Party 🌼

Hi! It’s Keriann again and one day not too long ago while scrolling through TikTok, I saw some girls dressed up in what I can only assume were like these 60s or 70s themed costumes. They wore sunglasses, bright multi-colored dresses with flowers on them, and wore these big white high heel boots.

My first thought was about how cute I thought those outfits were, but my second thought was about how cool it would be to make this into a party theme, so I got to looking. Pinterest had so many wonderful examples of how to decorate for a party like this and managed to help put together what I was picturing in my head.

If you know exactly what I’m talking about and think this could be a cool theme too, take a look at the photos below for possible ideas on how to decorate for this kind of party.

Ideas for a Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving Party

Thanksgiving.

This holiday is celebrated by some not only in the U.S. but also across the World. Some people use the day to stay at home and relax, while others gather with family and or friends for a homemade meal. There are many ways to celebrate the holiday, but one thing that always adds a little life to the day is the decorations.

Check out the attached photos to help get some ideas for decorating for Thanksgiving or even Friendsgiving.

Cotton Candy Party

Have you ever been on the boardwalk down the shore, to a carnival, or to a stadium/arena and saw they had cotton candy? What about cotton candy ice cream, have you ever tried that before? Both versions of cotton candy are delicious, but did you know you could have someone come to your house for a party and serve cotton candy?

A few months ago, at an open house that we had at the warehouse, we had this amazing vendor come by and serve cotton candy to any guest that wanted some. Now imagine throwing a party that was only cotton candy-themed….

5 Birthday Party Activities for the Winter

When the winter time hits and there’s snow falling on the ground outside, it may seem difficult to plan some party activities that can be done inside instead of outside. Below are some winter-related activities that can be done inside and will still provide a lot of fun for the kids. These activities can also be used for other themes as well, you would just have to alter them accordingly.

1. Painting

Painting is such a fun activity for kids of all ages. There are two types of painting activities that can be done at children’s birthday parties. The kids can either let their creativity flow during freestyle painting, or they can color in an already drawn picture. If you decide on choosing an already drawn picture, you can either buy canvas/paper with a picture on it or you can DIY it by drawing a design onto a canvas yourself.

This painting above is a perfect example of a simple freestyle painting. All you need is paper, paint, a plastic fork, and q-tips. To make a snowflake, all you need to do is dip the fork lightly into the paint and then press it onto the paper. You can continue to rotate it in a circle to form a snowflake like the above photo. The q-tips are optional, but they help create the little dots on the paper.

Here’s a link to another blog post of ours where we discuss how to DIY a drawing onto canvas.

2. Food Decorating

This activity is a really cool one to do that most kids enjoy because afterward, they get to eat the creation they’ve made. For this activity, all the kids would need is a plain cupcake or cookie and some edible frosting, sprinkles, and candy toppings.

3. Make your own penguin

This activity is just as fun as the painting one, but a lot less messy. All you need is a bunch of precut colored paper, maybe some sticker googly eyes, and tape or glue. The kids can create their own penguins by gluing or taping the precut paper together. If you’re interested in making it a little extra fancy, you could also turn it into a hat.

4. Snowman/Snowball Toss

This activity may work for kids who are a little bit older, but it’s still a very simple, yet entertaining game. You take a bucket and you can either decorate it to look like a snowman or you can just leave it plain. Then, you get a bunch of soft white balls that look like snowballs for the kids to toss inside.

5. Snowman Bowling

For this activity, all you would need is a bunch of plastic cups that are decorated like a snowman and some soft white balls. You would set up the cups as you normally would for bowling and then you would let the kids roll the ball into the cups.

Paw Patrol Party

Hiya! It’s Keriann here again and as Halloween is approaching, I’m starting to see ads for a variety of costumes, specifically ads for children’s costumes. It instantly made me think of my cousin’s children and how they dressed up as Paw Patrol characters for Halloween last year.

Paw Patrol is a popular TV series that many young children watch and love. It’s a cute cartoon show that has been playing on Nickelodeon for many years and is still a fan favorite with younger crowd.

Check out the photos below to get some ideas on how to decorate for a Paw Patrol-themed party.

A Stitch-Themed Birthday Party

Hi everyone! My name is Keriann and I work for Onida here at Petite Seats. One of my favorite Disney movies growing up was Lilo and Stitch, and I thought it would make a wonderful blog post. I recently saw this movie on Disney Plus as I was scrolling through one of the sections and was immediately taken back to my childhood. I absolutely loved both the movies they’ve created over the years, as well as the TV series. I used to watch it all the time with either friends or family. The one thing I never had though was a Lilo and Stitch-themed birthday party.

Now that I’m older, I’m able to appreciate the true meaning behind the movie… and that my favorite character still happens to be Stitch. I feel his character experiences so much growth throughout the movie and learns so many important lessons.

So, if you love Stitch as much as I do, take a look at the photos below for some ideas on how to decorate for a Stitch-themed birthday party.

A Monsters, Inc Birthday Party

A popular Disney movie that came out in the early 2000s was Monsters, Inc. Over the years, so many children have watched the movie and fell in love with it. They even added a Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor to the iconic Disney World Magic Kingdom theme park and created a sequel called Monsters University.

This kind of theme is perfect for a children’s party because it’s fun, it’s lighthearted, and the color scheme consists of bright colors.

Check out the pictures below for some party inspiration:

Hello Sue 🎀 A Hello Kitty Inspired 2nd Birthday

We have worked with Shelly (@byshelly) on countless parties, us being the rental company and she the event photographer. We finally had the pleasure of designing and styling an event for her little one. Shelly wanted a pastel colored Hello Kitty inspired event for her baby Sue. The theme, Hello Sue, was a pleasure to style.

We started the process of designing the event with Keriann creating a design board.

The design board consists of a collection of photos carefully selected from Pinterest. As mentioned in a previous blog post, Pinterest is a perfect website to help you gather some ideas or inspiration for parties or other events.

Originally, this party was going to be a Minnie Mouse Garden Party, so that’s how the design board was put together. Shelley loved what we gathered and envisioned for the party, but she wanted it to be Hello Kitty instead of Minnie Mouse. We had no problem making the switch while keeping the exact vibe she was looking for.

Here are a few photos that were found and used for the design board:

Once the design board was completed & shown to the client, we went ahead and started ordering the supplies needed to put the party together. It took a couple of weeks for everything to come in, but once it did, with the extra supplies, we did a quick setup of the main table to figure out how we wanted it to look.

Here are a couple of pictures from the test setup:

After we came up with a plan we liked, we made sure to pack everything up for the party.

Here are some photos from the day of the party after we set up:

A Nightmare Before Christmas Party

As we start to approach Halloween, the planning for parties is already in effect. Besides doing the typical trick or treating, a lot of people love to celebrate by either throwing a party for friends and family or by attending one.

Recently, the blog posts have been a little bit more towards Disney-themed parties based on Disney movies. To continue on with that theme, today’s post is going to be about throwing a Nightmare Before Christmas party.

It’s the perfect kind of theme for a Halloween party and there are many ways to decorate for one. Check out the photos below for some inspiration if you’re interested in trying it out.

✨ SHINE BRIGHT: End of Summer Vendor Party ✨

On Monday, August 29th, a couple of us at Petite Seats had the opportunity to attend a vendors party down in Manalapan, New Jersey. We were giving the opportunity to meet with many wonderful vendors and explore their incredibly talented businesses. Everyone who participated in putting the party together did a phenomenal job and it turned out to be a complete success!

Here are some photos from the party:

For this event, our company, Petite Seats, provided the table, chairs, and the rug you see in the photos above. Plus, another section of our website is Petite Bounce, which also provided the white bouncy house that was seen in the photos.

These photos were taken prior to the party starting and the photographer showing up. Once the party began, there was a photographer (@Alexa.Lynn.photo) walking around snapping candid photos. A Disney Villain's Party

Disney parties are always a fan favorite for children’s birthday parties. Often, they are based on Disney princesses; sometimes based on the newly released popular movie. While these types of parties are always cute and adorable, they are also very redundant. At Petite Seats, we get excited when given the chance to brainstorm on how to use our products in an original, not-so-popular theme.

One way to spice up a Disney-themed party is to go away from the princesses, think Disney Villains.

I know, I know you’re thinking… why would I do that?! Basically, your party will be party unique and stand out. Seen one princess party, you’ve seen them all. Your guests will be chatting about it for months to come. In the entire eight years of Petite Seats, we’ve had one villain-themed party, The Descendants theme, check it out here this was back in 2016.

For example, one popular movie series that some children may have seen on Disney Channel is Descendants. The character’s in this movie are supposed to represent the children of well-known Disney villains like Maleficent and Cruella De Vil.

Below are few photos of different ways to decorate for a Descendants party:

Need Ideas For Your Child’s Party?

Sometimes coming up with the perfect theme for your child’s birthday party may be difficult. You can search and search, but never find exactly what you are looking for. There is one website though that may be the answer to all your problems and that website just so happens to be Pinterest.

Pinterest is a wonderful website to search through to find ideas for any kind of party you are looking to create.

Recently, a client of ours, Shelly (@byshelly), was looking to put together a party for her daughter’s 2nd birthday. She reached out and gave a few reference photos showing the kind of theme she was interested in. We used what she sent in and the help of Pinterest to create a proposal of what we pictured for the party. Originally, the party was supposed to be a Minnie Mouse Garden Party, which then turned into the cutest Hello Kitty Garden Party yet.

Here are some Pinterest photos that helped create the proposal:

And here are some photos from the actual party:

A Unicorn Birthday Party

As the days pass, it seems as if more and more children’s parties are geared toward llama themed parties than Unicorn parties. The only problem is that unicorn parties are iconic. They will always have a certain flare to them and they won’t ever truly fade away. When it comes to popular birthday trends, the unicorn theme is timeless. Check out this adorable unicorn birthday party that was styled by Pretty Twinkle Designs in Chicago, IL:

If you are thinking about trying out this theme for your child’s party, but aren’t looking to spend a fortune, Party City might be the way to go. They have a bunch of different Unicorn themed items like balloons, banners, plates, tablecloths, and the list goes on. Here’s a quick list of ideas for supplies:

Birthday Party Activity: DIY Canvas Paintings

Recently, one activity that was chosen for a station at a birthday party we designed + styled was canvas paintings. It’s simple, cute, and a very fun activity for the kids to do.

All you need is a canvas, a paint brush, and paint. For extra panache, adding a mini easel and smock are cute additions (make sure the colors are on theme). As for what’s actually on the canvas, well, that’s entirely up to you. It’s very easy to just leave the canvas blank and allow for the children to let their creativity flow. Or, you can create your own design for the children to color in. There’s a very easy way to get the perfect design copied onto that blank canvas and all you would need is a coloring book, graphite paper, and a pencil.

Using graphite paper and the coloring book page, you are able to transfer the perfect picture over on to the canvas, perfect for themed parties. For our party, Hello Kitty was the theme. Using a coloring book with this theme, we made a unique party favor for each child attending.

Interested in trying this for your next event? All you need is Canvas or paper, graphite paper, a pencil, and the picture of your choice.

Here is a step-by guide on how to transfer over the design:

Step 1: Gather all of your supplies

Step 2: Place the graphite paper over canvas or sheet of paper

Step 3: After choosing the desired image from either online or from a coloring book, place the picture over the graphite paper

Step 4: Take a pencil of your choosing and trace over the picture chosen

It’s a little easier to copy over the picture onto the actual canvas, but for this example, it was all done on normal printer paper. If you plan to try this on printer paper, it might take a little longer to complete due to cleaning up the little marks after all the tracing is complete.

The Final Results:

As you can see, the picture has a few little marks and extra lines that could use a little touching up, but overall, the design was transferred over pretty well.

Here are a few final results from the Hello Kitty party:

Here are links to some of the supplies:

Graphite Paper: It is available at Michaels for about $3.99. They offer two different sizes: 18” x 24” and 9” x 12”. Source Here

Canvas: There is a bunch of different canvas ranging in different sizes available at Michaels as well. They even offer package deals in case you were interested in buying in bulk here.

Coloring book: These can be purchased in a variety of places like Walmart, Target, Dollar stores, Michaels, etc. The Hello Kitty coloring book shown above was found and purchased at a physical Dollar Tree store. Sadly, as of right now, it isn’t offered on the online website, but there many other options to choose from here.
