Before the upcoming cooler weather and the end of the season, V and I collaborated to produce a styled shoot inspired by the citrusy lemon. We wanted to capture the essence and spirit of an outdoor soirée for my littles and their besties on a perfect summer afternoon.
V visited the Hunts Point Flower Market to purchase the flowers to achieve these centerpiece looks. I added my two-sense with a halved fig ;-)
We wanted to use lemons as the focus point of our shoot, but not in an over done way. White with shades of yellow and pink were used to show the vibrancy of the season and to add more dimension.
V styled each place setting with a yellow gingham cloth napkin as a place mat, as is her signature design element for kid's’ tablescapes only one piece of cutlery was used.
Now let’s get into the awe-inspiring desserts, especially the cake. Kedby outdid herself with these treats. Our cake was made with a lemon infused buttercream with vanilla bean filling. The cake was decorated with lemon macarons, gold leaf, a sprinkling of pistachios and dehydrated lemon slices. The dehydrated lemons were also used in the caksicles and the lemon curd tarts. All were beautiful and tasted even better.
What a sweet surprise, do you see the white embellished rectangular box? Well its a custom made candy bar box created by D’Yulz Kreations.
Yosi of Favors And More designed and built this wooden lemonade stand that was the perfect complement to our theme. The lemon yellow end table was from Claudia of Tie A Bow Rentals.
THE perfect addition to any kid’s event are concession stand food carts. Tasha of All About Play brought her Puffection cart to give the kids a taste of her organic lemon cotton candy.
If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll remember these chairs were found on Craigslist. Sorry they are not for sale, they are used in my little ones’ toy room.
